Give Mel Gibson a break!

So he got very drunk and said some BS about Jews.
So what?

"I will not see his movies anymore!!!"
"We demand an apology!!!"
"Here is a councel for you..."
"the apology is not good enough"

Come on! Give me a fucking break!!
First of all, as a Jew, I have no problem with what he thinks or not about me.
Second, as a person, I know everyone explodes sometimes and say things they would regret, and mostly say things you would not say if you were sober. And I am positive that absolutely 100% of the people who are making noise now, said bad things about others in time of anger. They were simply not caught or not as famous as him to be newsworth.

If I was his friend, I might get hurt for the comment. As he would be judging me for my religious beliefs rather than me for what I am.
And besides, this should NEVER discredit him as the great actor and director he is.

I don't know much about him (besides watching his movies), but from what I hear, he is a very devoted person, a good father/husband and a person who always try to help others.
So that is enough for me.

If anything, my wish is that he gets better, that he succeeds in winning his fight against alcoholism.
I hope he learns from this. But not that he cannot say certain things.
He's a grown man and knows right from wrong.
But things like the fact that apparently is the only person who noted to thank the policeman who stopped him, as he prevented him to have a car accident and hurt himself or others with much worse consequences.

Now give him a break, will you? One incident does not make him a bad person and does not take away his accomplishments as a person or as an actor!
Judging him as a bad person only for this is worse than his judgement of the jews while drunk. But at least he was drunk. What is your excuse???
